PROJECT MANAGER/NEPA SPECIALIST

Buys & Associates, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm based in Littleton, Colorado that specializes in evaluating and mitigating impacts of oil and gas development in the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond.

Position Description:

Buys & Associates is seeking a NEPA Specialist/Project Manager with 5 or more years of experience to lead NEPA documentation and compliance projects. This includes Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements, the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and the oversight of technical staff.

Responsibilities include:

• The review, preparation, editing, and compilation of Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, FERC Resource reports, and other miscellaneous environmental documents.
• The management of the financial performance of individual NEPA projects.
• Achievement in business development with oil and gas clients, and the establishment of credibility with reviewing agencies.
• The ability to cooperatively work with and oversee the work of various staff engineers and scientists on NEPA projects/reports.
• A contribution to Buys’ expanding professional reputation in environmental consulting.

Qualifications include:

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, natural resources management, or a related field.
• Five or more years of demonstrated expertise in federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to NEPA management in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and the Rocky Mountain region.
• Excellent organization, communication, and management skills, and the ability to see projects through to completion.
• Direct project experience with federal agencies.
• Secondary expertise in planning, ecology, land use, mining, grazing ecology, geology/soils or other natural resource assessment relevant in the West is an advantage.

Salary:             Negotiable, based on experience.
