NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner

Buys & Associates, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm based in Littleton, Colorado that evaluates and mitigates impacts of oil and gas development throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond.

Position Description:

Buys & Associates is seeking a professional with an environmental planning and professional experience with writing NEPA environmental documents.  The position will entail preparing resource-specific sections of EAs and EISs pertaining to one or more the following disciplines: 

• Visual Resources
• Socio-Economics
• Transportation
• Recreation
• Land Use
• Range Management

The successful candidate will have prior work experience with developing affected environment impact analyses, mitigation sections of NEPA documents, and providing support to NEPA Project Managers.

Qualifications include:

• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources management, environmental planning, or a related field.
• Technical writing skills.
• Expertise in the collection and analysis of data.
• Expertise in impact analysis.
• Experience in NEPA documentation and reporting.
• Editing skills and experience.
• The ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
• The ability to work effectively with federal, state, and local agencies.

Additional experience a plus:

• Environmental justice.
• Demonstrated experience in federal and state environmental laws and regulations related to the Rocky Mountain region.
• Excellent organization, communication, and management skills, and the ability to see projects through to completion.
• Project experience with federal agencies in the Rocky Mountain region.

Salary:             Negotiable, based upon educational credentials and related experience.
