Buys & Associates, Inc. seeks a NEPA Project Manager to manage and author concise, accurate technical NEPA documents; work on simultaneous, diverse projects; participate in the preparation of competitive proposals and make professional presentations, as well as provide staff supervision and development. The position will require coordination with other project managers and multi-disciplinary teams, in addition to developing and monitoring project budgets and schedules. Applicants must be detail-oriented, organized, willing to work hard, able to provide outstanding client service, and see projects from beginning to end.
Requirements include: a BS degree in an environmental science or policy field, with a Masters degree in the same or related field preferred; five years of experience preparing and directly managing or assisting with the management of EAs and EISs; and a thorough understanding of NEPA and the CEQ guidelines. Experience in preparing NEPA documents on BLM, USFS and/or BIA-administered lands is a plus. Direct experience with large-scale NEPA projects for oil and gas development projects is a must. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient understanding of oil and gas industry operations to facilitate the development of proposed actions and alternatives for energy development projects. Expertise in renewable energy, transportation, and public land uses is a plus.
Successful applicants will also have the ability to critique resource sections to ensure impact analyses accurately reflect anticipated effects from proposed actions and alternatives. Past experience with organizing public involvement efforts and agency/stakeholder meetings is preferred.
Salary: NEGOTIABLE, based upon educational credentials and recent, relevant work experience.
