Kleinfelder/Buys & Associates, Inc. seeks an Oil & Gas Permitting Specialist with ability to function independently while working directly for Oil & Gas clients, to maintain procedures and programs to minimize environmental risks and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Duties will vary but will primarily include preparation of Sundry notices, APDs, ROW grant applications; working with pumpers to ensure well site compliance (e.g., well sign maintenance, compliance stickers, etc.); and assistance with other monitoring and compliance requirements as needed. Knowledge and experience with stormwater monitoring and permitting, NEPA regulations, Ecological/Environmental Assessments, wetlands delineation, and similar federal and state permitting requirements preferred. Managing cultural and paleo surveys a plus. Preferred candidates will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology or equivalent and have at least two years of past work experience in preparing Sundry notices, APDs, ROW grant applications, and other regulatory compliance related duties. Successful candidates will be ready and willing to travel, ability to work both in an office or field environment, have a valid driver’s license, and a demonstrated ability to rely upon maps and GPS equipment to navigate remote locations for field work.

NEPA Project Manager |
Kleinfelder/Buys & Associates, Inc. seeks a NEPA Project Manager to manage and author concise, accurate technical NEPA documents; work on simultaneous, diverse projects; participate in the preparation of competitive proposals and make professional presentations, as well as provide staff supervision and development. The position will require coordination with other project managers and multi-disciplinary teams, in addition to developing and monitoring project budgets and schedules. Applicants must be detail-oriented, organized, willing to work hard, able to provide outstanding client service, and see projects from beginning to end.
Requirements include: a BS degree in an environmental science or policy field, with a Masters degree in the same or related field preferred; five years of experience preparing and directly managing or assisting with the management of EAs and EISs; and a thorough understanding of NEPA and the CEQ guidelines. Experience in preparing NEPA documents on BLM, USFS and/or BIA-administered lands is a plus. Direct experience with large-scale NEPA projects for oil and gas development projects is a must. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient understanding of oil and gas industry operations to facilitate the development of proposed actions and alternatives for energy development projects. Expertise in renewable energy, transportation, and public land uses is a plus.
Successful applicants will also have the ability to critique resource sections to ensure impact analyses accurately reflect anticipated effects from proposed actions and alternatives. Past experience with organizing public involvement efforts and agency/stakeholder meetings is preferred.
