ABOUT

Mr. Carroll has over 5 years professional experience in wildlife biology, Threatened and Endangered (T&E) species ecology, Endangered Species Act (ESA) regulations, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations, compliance and implementation. Kirby has performed analyses and technical writing on over 25 NEPA documents and has produced 5 wildlife publications.  In addition, Mr. Carroll has over 5 years of experience as a field biologist, and has managed or participated in field surveys for numerous NEPA projects.  His ecological field experience includes threatened and endangered wildlife & plant surveys, big game population assessments, raptor nest inventories, black-footed ferret surveys, Mexican spotted owl surveys, and general habitat evaluations.

Senior Ecologist

Two years of professional experience as a wildlife biologist. Diverse knowledge and experience in the development of ecological studies including work with endangered species. Skilled in the use of GIS software, including analysis of habitats related to wildlife species.

Designed and implemented research projects studying the habitat requirements of the endangered Indiana and Gray bats. Analyzed habitat requirements using ArcView3.2. Participated in cave and mine surveys throughout the eastern United States . Surveys were aimed at determining hibernating requirements for these species.

Completed aerial surveys for large game species including Mule Deer, White-tailed deer, and Elk. Completed wildlife habitat management plans for private landowners participating in Wildlife Tax Exemptions through the state of Texas .

Completed numerous surveys and habitat assessments for the following special status species in Colorado and Texas : Golden Cheeked Warbler, Black Capped Vireo, Townsend's Big-eared Bat, Gunnison Sage Grouse and the Tobusch Fishook Cactus.
